This course supports writing leaders and teachers in developing an outstanding writing curriculum that will raise attainment, progress, and teachers’ confidence across your school.
The course will cover developing writing in the early years through purposeful activities and engaging stimuli. It will then explore how teachers should successfully teach writing throughout KS1 and KS2.
Over the years different strategies/schemes have been used to teach writing, often leading to teachers and sometimes leaders, thinking that is the only way to teach writing successfully.
This course gets right back to the basics of how children learn to write, how they should progress and develop and how to ensure children capable of achieving greater depth succeed.
This course will cover the following:
- Understanding the writing learning process and how to structure a writing sequence that has impact
- Supporting you in finding ways to increase children’s love of writing
- Developing consistency in the way writing is taught across your school
- Creating a writing climate in your classroom and throughout your school
- Raising and maintaining the profile of writing, and standards within it
- Understanding what a writing deep dive looks like and implications for your practice
- Developing children’s writing stamina and confidence across the curriculum

- Exploring how writing fits with different areas of learning within the EYFS curriculum
- Helping you create a sense of purpose for your children’s writing

- Providing you with dozens of approaches to help you sustain high standards writing
