This training course will ensure every subject leader is fully prepared for an extended learning walk and a deep dive. Subject inspections have evolved significantly since the start of the current framework in 2019. Find out the content and structure of an extended learning walks and a deep dive in 2024/24. The key is for subject leaders to be proactive and lead the extended walk rather than the inspector taking charge!
This course will enable subject leaders to be fully prepared for an extended learning walk and deep dive:
- How to excel during an extended learning walk and a deep dive
- How to be PROACTIVE and lead an extended learning walk
- How to answer questions during an extended learning walk/deep dive
- Provide subject leaders with the support to complete the 7 key tasks every subject leader needs to complete before an extended learning walk/ deep dive.
- Gain a deep understanding of content knowledge and content pedagogical knowledge in each subject and why this is so vital to the subject leader role.
- Talk effectively about your vision, intent, implementation and impact of your curriculum
- Clearly articulate and evidence curriculum content, sequencing and progression.
- Understand Ofsted expectations for outstanding subject and middle leaders and provide outstanding examples of monitoring, self-evaluation, assessment, action planning and evidence required to excel during inspection.
