This training course is ideal for subject leaders who have been in post for a few years and need renewed input or direction to keep moving forward at pace. This training course will take a detailed look at the best advanced subject leader practice in primary schools and what the very best leaders do to make their subject exemplary. The course will take a thorough and rigorous look at how subject leaders should carry out their role effectively to raise attainment, progress and achievement in their subject and go beyond the national curriculum.
The training will show advanced subject leaders how to lead for maximum impact as well as being fully prepared for Ofsted inspection. The training will guide delegates through everything subject leaders will need to excel and the 7 key tasks subject leaders must complete having been in post a few years.
This course will help new and aspiring subject leaders by working through the following sessions
- How to lead with flair, passion and inspiration – how can you share this with all staff?
- Provide subject leaders with the support to complete the 7 key tasks every advanced subject leader needs to complete for full impact in their subject
- Gain a deep understanding of content knowledge and content pedagogical knowledge in each subject and how you use this to improve standards and achievement.
- Ensure children are ‘engaged’ and not passive learners in your subject.
- Discover how to develop further the progressive, sequential curriculum map covering the key concepts, knowledge and skills you need to cover in each subject.
- Raise attainment across your school in every subject by developing a consistent approach to subject leadership.
- Talk effectively about your vision, intent, implementation and impact of your curriculum
- Clearly articulate and evidence curriculum content, sequencing and progression.
- Discover a range of proven strategies that can engage children in each subject.
- Understand the concept of ‘greater depth’ in every subject.
